  • Ingredients

400-500g of halloumi cheese cut into approximately 2cm cubes

    1 large egg

1/2 cup breadcrumbs, cornmeal or even polenta.

1/4 cup olive oil (maybe a little more)

    1/4 cup honey

1/2 tsp chili sauce, sriracha or similar (not sweet chili sauce)

  • Method

OMG — who doesn't love fried cheese? This simple recipe coats bite size salty goodness and combines with a crunch & a kick.

    Totally morish.

Cut the halloumi into nugget-sized chunks (about 2 cm cubes). Pat dry like you mean it.

Dip & Coat — Dunk into flour, then egg, then panko mixed with paprika. Press the crumbs on.

Sizzle & Flip — Heat oil in a pan. Fry ‘em up, turning till golden and crispy (about 2 mins per side).

Drain & Devour — Let them chill on paper towel. Prepare the sauce (simply mix the honey with the sriracha) and serve away!!

And a squeeze of lemon never hurt anyone.
